Hello there, how are you? I thought I'd start trying to amass some Quickie Events merchandise to help crank the branding cogs of the Quickie machine. Look! A bumper sticker! Does anyone still use them? I love using vistaprint, which some of you may already know of, it's almost addictive! I wanted to see the quality of some of their products, and was quite impressed.
So now I have bumper stickers which are for sale ($10) and I imagine only the bold will be purchasing these puppies, as they do tend to garner interesting looks. Also on offer are Quickie tote bags, which I'll post a picture of shortly. Lastly I've got some Quickie pens but need to order more so I'll hold off on selling those just yet, but I can assure you, they're awesome and you'll wonder how you ever got by without them before. Hope the training is going well and you're happy and healthy!

A massive high five to all those who took part in the Christchurch Airport Marathon on the weekend. Perfect running conditions and a fast, flat course saw some pretty decent times. None of which were mine (in the half) but that really didn't matter.
I entered not only for the challenge but as someone who's attempting to produce events it's always good to get out there and get involved in other people's races. It's like being a writer, to get better at it, you have to read heaps too. So I arrived on the day keen to observe how it all ran. I have to say I was really impressed! All seemed to be under control, well laid out, information was readily at hand and the prep leading up to the day had been done. Of course the ChCh Marathon is leagues ahead of Quickie Events, but it's cool knowing that an event with thousands of entrants and hundreds of staff still maintains a friendly atmosphere - something that's really important to me. I couldn't help but wish Quickie Events would grow in numbers and come race day be a seething hive of nerves and excitement. But for now I'm really happy with the core group of competitors who do attend, it's quality not quantity! |
